GLOSSARY

Award – Rules that the employees are paid by and conditions that they are to work under. These rules determine when different rate of pay come into effect, when allowance and Overtime are paid.

Interchangeable terms – Pay rules, EBA, Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, CA, Collective Agreement, Business Rules, Work rules, Labour Laws, Work Rules, Award Interpretation

Rostering – The process of assigning employees to particular shifts and creating an expected work pattern for a given period in time.

Interchangeable terms – Scheduling, Workforce Planning, Staff Plan, Labour Forecasting

Leave – Time that an employee is absent from the workplace when they would typically be present. E.g. Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Compassionate Leave

Availability – Employees statement of when they can/cannot work. In TimeTarget an employee can have three states of availability Unavailable, Available and Preferred .

Biometric Device – any device that uses a human characteristic as a point of reference/comparison for identification.

The common technologies that are available through TimeTarget are Fingerprint, Finger Vein, Iris Scan.
